First off, I apologize for the "immensely squeaky buggy". Won't lie, it has some squeaks, but my camera mount on the roll cage must just pick up every damn thing. I'm gonna try some rubber isolation next outing to quieten it down a bit.

Last video ended my day. Thought a U-joint popped, but the stock short side inner let go right behind the yoke. After getting out and assessing "why", it appears I had it all piled up under a big undercut wall and there was a pointy rock sticking inside the wheel. Just bound it up and snap. My fault....inner shafts were on my "to-do" list anyways.

Re: Re: Windrock Feb 1st

Prolly the most fun ive had on that trail!!!

Ive never ran that trail without winching twice. Although popping that axle, the first time I did the bottom part with no cable!

Rail is really a great trail except that section where I popped the axle. Ive never liked that part.

Re: Re: Windrock Feb 1st

Hope so!!! Really enjoyed all the good company and rigs today!

If I wasn't 3wheelin by the end of rail I wouldve loved to go go hit 3 and bounce s'more....but I was jus kinda bummed. Plus...**** got cold up there on top of the mountain. I spent most of the day gloveless with only a sweatshirt. It was nice.

Glad I could make this trip. Although destroying the driver side fender and all wasn't fun, I love the skinny pedal ;D.

Might get one more ride with a full jeep, then it's under the knife.

All in all, a good day of wheeling. Under the conditions of Rail Trail, we all did well to have as minimal damage as we did. And the sbc ain't too shabby either.

Alex is right, you probably could have made the stair steps. I tried a different line than normal and seemed really easy. Super dry!

Re: Re: Windrock Feb 1st

Yea he said it was a crawl.

However. ..in my previous cases....once I tear somethin up, usually more carnage follows!! ;D

sweet vids tony..

Rail trail is a ton of fun except for the two winch spots..

it looks like the bypass around the first big ledge on the right after the creek is open again? last time we ran it was in september and there were a lot of trees down and winching the ledge by the tree was mandatory..

I winched the ledge and the undercut pinch at the end of that icy rock garden part in your vid.. super fun trail..

yeah the lower end never gets direct sun.. I need to spend some more time riding around in that area of the park.. I seem to get turned around out there still..
