Well some of you know her & her Jeep. She has become a pretty good wheeler with a pretty stock rig. Not to long ago she got a 2" body lift & a 2 1/2" Rancho suspension lift. Then she got her hands on some nice used 10X15 aluminum rims from a friend :hi: . Next on the list was some new 33" skins.
Well this weekend Teri & I had set up a working weekend date. She was going to get my old NP231 w/ a Tera 4:1, 2LO & a JB SYE.
Well on her way over she had a little problem.

The drivers rear tire worked loose somehow and when she got stopped all 5 lugs were missing and the brake drum was sitting on the rim.

Good thing I had 5 rims for her. This one will become the spare now!!! :wtf:

So here is her new crawl box ready to be installed.

So from everything she has told me this is not a common picture so I had to get some pictures. Most of the time when she works on her Jeep the guys push her out of the way and she doesn't get to really work on it. Well I ain't that nice. While I was doing a rear brake job I coached her on how to pull her old t-case. And it was a good thing we did too because once we got it out we found out it was bone dry!!!

We're also doing a diff service while we're at it. And she will be getting some steel braided brake lines I had laying around.

with the lug holes wallowed out like that its not even good for a spare. odds are that if she ever has to use it it will come loose within a couple of miles

15X10??

No good for low psi on those tires.

Ask me how I know this.

Its funny how people comment on "that wheel" won't work well bla bla bla

The wheel size is a mute point--its the brand of wheel and brand of time that makes the difference..

Didn't know the brand of time made a difference. I'll make sure to remember that. :haha: :haha:

And BTW even more has been done to her rig. She now has a Cold Air intake Redneck style, a 4.0 throttle body & 8 degree shims in the rear to take care of the vibs. Next time she comes over hopefully the steelbraided brake lines will go one, going to try a Currie TJ steering on her YJ and swap out the mechanical fan for an electric.

and swap out the mechanical fan for an electric.

I'm NOT a big fan of takin' mechanical fans out for electrics myself. I've yet to see a mechanical fan 'die' on the trail and leave you stranded.

I have seen bent blades that got re-straightened. I've seen clutch assemblies that refused to engage, but were 'wired' into a locked position and driven out.

I've seen several electrics that have broken plastic blades and/or smoked the motors and the whole rig had to be towed out.

NICE Work!

great work acutally... Way to go Teri.

so wildman, is this a sneaky way to get a good woman from the otherside of the mountains to come over and have a 'date' - if so congrats too, wish you two oodles of happiness romping around in your jeeps and anywhere else you may choose to romp, everyone deserves a bit of romp and fun!

Yes I'll have to agree with you but when dealing with the 4banger a electric fan is a power gainer. The trade off is worth it.

Nope just two old friends helping each other out. She does picture matting and I had some I needed mounted and matted. Plus I had a bunch of parts laying around from my TJ build. I'd rather sell/trade stuff to a friend than just sell it.

Had to re-read that twice. Thought for sure you said mating not matting. Add Mounting and mating together and it just sounds incestual or something.:eeek:

I'm still running the mechanical fan in mine. Had a few issues with the clutch, but nothing to cause any major issue's.

You can start all the rumors you want. Some might even be true if you tell about how GOOD I AM!! :awesomework: :fawkdancesmiley: :haha: :redneck:

As to the rumors, think what you will, that is for me to know and everyone else to try and find out. As to the rig and all that has been done.......Well as much as I hate to say it........Rick you were right......but I do love how it is handling now and I have some of the power back I lost when getting bigger tires. We may find out more on how it runs if I wheel at Reiter on sunday.
