Early YJ had mechanical.Late YJ had electric.The one I sold you is an early edition, so it's mechanical. My 92 had an electric. When I swapped in the V8 in my 92, I took out my electric sender out of my Atlas, and swapped in an early version mechanical and bought an early version speedo head. It was easier than trying to figure out the electric wiring as most of my harness was altered during the motor swap due to the differences in engine electronics. BTW, see ya tomorrow, and if I can find my old parts I'll bring 'em, but I don't think I kept them
