WOW Meeting - WED 07/07

This whole conversation should be on the WOW board. Not NWWheelers, just my two cents.

Its just a simple question that was asked and not answered. Who are the New WOW officers :eeek: Its not "chit slinging" as stated or anything of the such just some questions that many of us that dont spend much time on the WOW board would like to know.

x2 Everyone should be concerned it could make or break your favorate trails..

As someone who is more of a reader, and less of a contributor on this site it's interesting to walk into yet another WOW vs PNW4WDA thread. And part of what is so interesting is that there are a lot of good things being said here, buried in a bunch of commentary to get on each other's nerves and potentially breakdown working relationships. I get it, that's the Internet Forum world. That's what we do here right?

As a member of WOW, and a supporter of the PNW...ultimately, I offer up the fact that all of this conversation, even with the digs at each other, just means we have a group of folks that are extremely passionate about figuring out a way to win the bigger battle — which is keeping our trails open so that future generations have places to wheel. For some of the folks that means small rigs, for some folks it means finding places where the big rigs and big tires can play. And what I know to be true without a doubt is that if we don't keep fighting the good fight together (trust me, no easy answers here and I'm not claiming to have them) we won't have any of this.

We owe the PNW4WDA respect, thanks to those previous generations and 50 years of hard work we have so much of what we have today. Do they have work to do to connect with a newer generation? I'd say probably yes. Are they working on it? I think so. On the flip side let us be WOW. You don't have to like it, you don't have to join us, but we are currently a new voice in this arena. We are in the beginning of our third year. That means we have 47 years to go before we're a well-oiled machine but we are going to continue to do our best to represent our users and move the association in a forward direction.

As a side note, hopefully most folks know that WOW isn't secretive. Most of us that are in WOW - you can't get us to be quiet on a good day. We'll tell you everything you want to know if you just ask. But since it's a good question about our minutes and officers being public information I'll ask at the next meeting. Hmm...maybe I'll even get a thread going on WOW. Thanks for bringing it up. Always looking for good ideas and ways to embrace and foster change.
