Just did the ford 8.8 swap in my yj with disc brakes and did not like the pedal feel and lack of rear brakes. So I swapped in a 78 ford grand marque MC for four wheel disk brakes and a proportioning valve from a rubicon, (they use rear disk). After this stuff was installed the brake pedal has easy aplication half way and stiff and midstroke and takes alot of pressure to lock up the front. System was well bled. My suspect is the valve. Any input would be great.

Check out the other 8.8 thread. I have heard reccomendations to use an 80's vette MC. Dunno. On my TJ, I had no problems whatsoever.

Just thinking that the mc was used on a car with hydroboost so I maybe lacking booster power for that mc.

Who makes an aftermarket porportioning valve that would be worth of this swap out?

As, I'm running the stock MC on mine, I definately could use a new valve so I can get some braking power back.

Goining to swap back in the stock MC and see how it is with the rubicon proportioning valve.

I am still using my stock MC and never changed anything but the rear axle and the brakes have always worked great?
