So I have a 4.0 out of a xj and a trans out of a YJ---anybody know if the pilot bearings are all the same on them 4.0's?

Joe just called me. It depends on the year of the AX15 and I don't recall what year his is. If it has the larger input ('92+ iirc) you'll need to use a different pilot bearing and it's a part # PB77HD.

Who's part # is that? The wife is getting ready to head to schucks to get an adapter for her new stering wheel

Hope you have the tool to remove it too. They're a bitch with a flat tip screw driver. :redneck:

I just looked at the schucks site says it's by BCA bushing.

What pilot bearing :awesomework: Gotta remember what I have at my disposal :awesomework:

Yeh I know. But its a good learning experience with a screw driver. :redneck:

Why'd ya use a screw driver? If you don't have the puller, I used a bar that was slightly smaller, packed the bearing full of grease and pounded it out hydraulically.

Actually the 1994 and up Ax-15 has a larger input shaft, and a custom bushing is necessary. Nobody makes them specifically. Jay Larsen in Monroe makes them custom, I had him make me 2, last time I was there. The 94-up bearing is loose inside the older crankshafts, you have to have a Ford brass bushing, and have it machined.
