Looking to purchase a big compressor that I can run in my current two car garage on 220v but be large enough for the shop I plan to build eventually. I want it powerful enough to run sandblaster, plasma etc for short periods of time. This will be for hobby use and I don't want to buy a piece of junk

quincy or ingersoll rand. check out northerntool.com got good prices

ingersoll rand 80 gal should do just fine mine will run every thing in my shop .......
around $1000 at tractor supply

Stay away from the Single stage, 5hp Ingersoll Rand.
First compressor pump went down @ 5 months, spun crank bearing. :****: Replaced under warranty after waiting a month until a Tech could look at it. The replacement lasted less than 2 months, same problem. I got tired of screwing around waiting on a tech to come look at it and bought a bare pump from these guys: http://www.eatoncompressor.com/page/page/504747.htm
