winter here and its time to start a new project. I was tired of breaking toy front end parts so I was just going to build a new front end for the toy and 3 or 4 link the front end. After thinking about it for a while I decided if I was going to link the front end why not just build a whole new rig and build a buggy. WHen I go to compete, as modified as the toy was I had to play againts the buggies and I had been thinking of building one in a few years anyway so :wtf: why not do it now.

I will be building it to fit the pro modified class werock rules so if they ever get a regional series I can go play in that class.I was going to re use most of my drivetrain but the toy front end. I was also going to try to make it a 3 seater on a 106"-108" wheelbase Well plans change and I ended up getting rid of the toy front and my 231-d300 tcases and they will both be upgraded. keeping the 4.3V-6, the turbo 350 and the 9" rear end. I alsosold the toy chassis, kept the 18" SAW's, dual in/out cutting brake setup, tranny shifter and a few gauges ect ect.

This will be getting the 4.3v6 with t350 full manual with compression braking and a 2100 rpm stall. Looking at going with the stak monster box in a 3speed 5.44 gear setup. Diamond 609 up front with longfield superbirf's, 9" rear with low pinions with ARB's on both and 4.56 gears which will put first gear double low right around 62-1 before the convertor. 18" SAW's in the rear and whatever length I need in the front, with a sway bar in the rear. Links will be 2.25"x.375" lowers and 2"x.25" uppers, 4 link rear and probably a 3 link in the front. 1350 ujoints front and rear with .190 wall drivelines. That is all I can think of now but I will edit later as I think of more BS to feed you.

Oh yeh cage will be built with a mixture of 1.25" sched 40 and 80, with some 1"x.083" wall herw tube for lighter uses. :kissmybutt: :redneck:

started by making a call to Brian Ellinger at Diamond axles to build me a 609 set up. A few months later Santa came early for me.:cheer:

I have to say these are a work of art, no wonder why they are called Diamonds. I ended up getting them in the 3.5"x.5" wall version. They are the same price with .375" or .5" wall version and they only about 6-8# more. I was going to run a different inner "C" but they kept putting us off and it only came in a 3" bore size and I would have to pay to have it turned out to 3.5". Brian had the Dedenbears on the shelf in a 3.5" variaty so I had to settle for these :redneck:

If ur looking for lightweight parts, Solids Industries is not where its at. But if ur are looking for some of the most stout parts out there I feel this is where its at for stock style 60 parts.

started bending a lil pipe and getting a idea of the layout that I am going with. I was trying to get a 3 seater but there will not look like what I want and still be able to get the rear seat in there. So I settled on two seats with plenty of room for storage and a cooler.

yeh its only money and every thing costs so daam much  . :redneck:

Yeh it will be worth it not to have to worry all the time when I go wheeling about breaking it. It can be a pisser to drive 3+ hours to go wheeling and have something break. :booo:

getting a lil more done to the cage, outside frame rails, A-C piller, and door bars are all schedual 80 .190" wall.

Are you building it out of pipe?

It will be with 1.25" sched 40 and 80 and also I will be using some 1"x.083"wall herw tubing. I might have went with 1.75"x.120" herw but it takes around 8 weeks right now to get a die from JD sqare. I have always had good lck with pipe so I just went with it. :kissmyass:

Stan breaks stuff! He never learned how to take it easy! lol You have to come back up to yak again...i herd he is going to have two events this year! Love the pipe!!!

Stan what were you breaking in the frontend, ring and pinion? Looks good so far...
Yep broke a lot of R&P untill I went HP and had Bobby Long work his magic heat treat and chryo on them. I also went though several knuckles and the knuckle studs were always loosining on me even with ARP's tourqued down and the 5th stud option. Just tired of trying to make it hold together. I had over $3400 into the toy front end it was always working on something on it.
