mod. class, 30' "A" build up

to get the last piece in place I cut one ear off and then tacked it back in place and will weld it up. Just no other way that I could figure out how to do it. Once its welded up it should be pretty daam near the same strength wise.

put a lil bend in the x brace behind the seats so that I would have a lil more head room

How wide is it?
I believe that its 56" wide, it should be sitting at pretty close to ride hieght with the bottome of the frame at 28" and the top of the cab is sitting at 74". I would like to have the bottom of the skid at right around 20". All this is on 37"s that actually measure around 35  .

It sound's like you are building with werock rules in mind, just remember to leave 40" from the butt of the seat to the inside of the roof.

Hmm ok I will have to remember that, I know that they have a 3" rule between ur head and the nearest roll bar.

Hey stan couple of questions out of curiosity.

Why did you go diamond vs spidertrax for the frontend?
2"x.25" wall seems big for upper links, is this just because you want to be way overkill or do think they really need to be that big?
What are you going to do for steering, do you have to have a box for mod class or are you going full hydro?

Diggin the buildup so far.

I went with diamond over spider trax because I just like the beef that Diamond has with the 3.5" wall tubes and .375" or .5" tubes. You can also get smaller 3" or 3.125 tubes of different thickness if you want but I feel the weight is in a good place and the tubes will get the shiat pounded out of them so to me the bigger thicker tubes were the only way to go and the price was the same. The price between the Diamond and the Spydertrack was fully built was just about the same money, way to much :booo: .

2".25" is probably way over kill but then I heard the same thing about 2.25"x.375" lowers and I have bent one of them a lil bit.

It will be getting full hydro which is legal in the mod. class as of 2007.

as far as I know that rule is old new's as of 2 years ago, but sure seem's like there's a lot of guy's without 40" still.
I just looked again at the 2007 rules and according to rule 5.15.16

5.15.16: Cage height must be a minimum of 3 inches from the entire helmet of the driver
***A cage height minimum of 3

wow, lookin good stan, needs more triangulatoryness..... Pups are neet too.

Thats what I was thinking also lol.

Ordered up my tcase today, decided on a 4speed atlas, it fits a lot better between the frame rails and I picked it up for only $50 more with the adapter then a stak 3 speed and adapter cost. I also ordered up the cable shifters to go with this, looks like the stock shifters would realy have me streching to get to them. Now the 6-8 week wait is on, the 10-1 case is a lot further out then the 5.44 case that I bought. It seems that there old gear cutter died and they bought some from another source and they were crap so they had to order some from another source again lol.
I also ended up ordering my arb's at the same time and they should be here withen a week or so. Then I can send my gear set out to Bobby longs and have him wave his majic dust over them, build my diffs and get that front end together.

Hey buddy, you know if you want my help setting up the gears, I will be more than happy to. I'm still looking for a cheap D60 front for mine. I am a lot farther along though, got it all wired over the weekend, and it actually works, got spark, fuel and all, amazing huh? My t case adapter should be here this week, want to get going on that. Anyways, my help is here if you need it. Looking good so far, I think the model A thing is going to be so cool. Oh and I got an inside guy now for sheetmetal to. Keep up the good work.

Stan you done yet???

:haha: :haha:

no, I hope to be done by May. I am just getting going, between working full time and going to school I do nto get a whole lot of time to work on it lol. Just got my hood so I can lay out the front end. I am wainting on my Atlas and ARB's both are back ordered and should be here in 6 weeks or soo. But I will keep plugging away at it and it should be done before summer :cheer:

Do you still have the shitter running while you do this or is it tore down? We've been playing in the snow. dont know how you can miss snow wheeling but it will be cool when its finished! When my rig gets beat up i will build something else to.

1 question?

Is that a huge wall of hay? - - - I remember wearing the full mask and welding from the inside of a rig, when i was done spotting, started to choke, thought I had everything covered... guess not, the seats were burning pretty good. I just can't imagine what a little bouncing ball of... oh my god fire?

would do with that stack....... wow! thats alot of poof woof. :FIREdevil:
