Well I Started with this $10 Part truck that was for my Bronco, some of my friends convinced me to build it instead and use the Bronc for a DD. So I spent some time fixing the motor and tranny issues.
When I first signed on to NWW I had already chopped the bed down and cut the fenders back, installed a 4" roughcountry lift and traded up for a set of 38 TSL Tires. At this point I was only 1,200 dolors in the hole.
Sense then I've taken it out a couple times and wasn't happy with the TTB axle the truck had so of course it had to go. Luckly Brian d was selling a ball Joint Dana 60 with 4.10 gearing. The axle was clean and he and his friend helped load it up to take it home ($900 later) Thanks for your help Brian. So out with the old TTB 44 POS and in with the new hotness
Got the old girl sitting on the new axle found another area I get to cut up and weld in some gassets. That's the front drive lines clearance of the Transmission cross member. Well as you can see, too freaken close! :eeek:
Shortly after putting the 60 in, PUO form AWOR came over to my house, help me pull the rear diff carrier out of the Sterling 10.5 and weld up the spider gears for me. PUO you rock :awesomework:
And here is how she sits now, Dana 60 up front and welded Sterling 10.5 rear.
I will be taking it over the Ceg's place this weekend and put in on the articulation ramp to see how she does.
Oh yeah... to-date I've spent 2,500 on this build
I've got some tube work in store, I will keep you all posted. I can't wait to get it out and wheel with you guys in your neck of the woods... well, where she will fit.:awesomework:
