Evans creek CLOSURE

I'm not going to pick on him, Pokey and I have run circles around this in the past. But until someone steps up to take on his role it's just not going to happen.
We don't miss too much though as Pokey does his best to make up for this gap in communication.
Some PNW land people believe that their responsibility is to report to the clubs and association that they represent and that putting stuff out on the internet for "JOE PUBLIC" user is not their responsibility. I happen to disagree with this but Pokey and Joe are the only two that I'm familiar with that do a good job and getting info out to JOE PUBLIC. If JOE PUBLIC wants to know what's going on, we did get the TRIPOWER put online so that anyone can see it and it's on the front counter of most 4x4 shops for free.
I can say that I understand their hesitation because when I had the Elbe position I went overboard trying to communicate and was ripped apart by people making assumptions that were based on incorrect info and outright lies. It's easy to make people gunshy.

It would do you very right not to step on anyone elses toes in this community.

The man you are talking about has put more time than you will ever know into that park.

Two clubs in two months your getting on a roll here gibby.

He is in the PNW he lets the pnw know what is going on he has put alot of time and work in at evans for a very long time. The only way you are guranteed to know what is going is if you attend the meetings.

its been said a million times its not needed to have 5000 users at a meeting.

POST INFO AT THE TRAIL HEAD.

is that complicated? They can post up a burn ban notice or no fireworks signs but not a "hey we need you opinion" sign? :scratchhead:

You're reading this wrong here.

I'm not trying to criticize him. That's why I pointed out that Pokey fills in the gap to try to get the work out.

I understand how much work and time he has put into the park.

I agree I will bring this up to derrick.

I just wanted to make sure.

I wasn't trying to call anyone out. I just think in modern times internet communication is very important on these kind of things. Sounds like Jim has it covered though so that's fine with me.
I recently had a falling out with RTW over this very issue.

I agree he works hard, as do many others, that is why I decided to try and lend a hand with W.O.W. Not all wheelers go to meetings, so that is why I put out the info. Didn't want to start a feud, just thought people would want to know whats going on.

Buy the way, I'm "blue collar" and can read and write.:kissmyass:

NO fueds here I just didnt want someone who has done alot for evans name tarnished. You keep doing what you are doing sounds like you got a pretty good handle on it and I will talk to derrick about the signs on the kiosk and maybe you can bring it up at the next forestry meeting just for some extra back up.

With that being said if you take all the weekend wheelers out of the eqauton in the winter we will end up with the same prob. we had along time ago with partiers up there.

Heresay (cause I didn't get it first hand) is that the USFS didn't get much objection when they requested input so they figured that no one had objections to their plan, including the seasonal closure.

Say Hitler walks into a crowd of Jews with a smile on his face, and wispers that he is going to kill them all. Is it O.K. that he kills them all if he only gets a few objections?:stirpot:

OK I just read all of the listed US Forrest service SOPAs (Schedule Of Proposed Actions) including the review of Evans and nothing says anything about Evans closing.
Does give a contact person E mail and phone number.:;

Maybe that's because there's nothing in the plan that says anything about any closures.

Comments received, including names and addresses of those who comment, will be part of the Project Record and available for public review. After close of the 30-day comment period, the Forest Service will release a decision notice (DN). The decision will be subject to appeal. Only those who submit timely comments will have standing to appeal the project decision (36 CFR 215.5(b)(1)(vi)).

We need to get a copy of this "decision notice" and if it doesn't list seasonal closure someone who commented needs to appeal this.

I agree, if no ones around things can go bad.
Derrick is who I have always got my help from, if signs go up or not, he might know.

I only do what I can do and was, once again, just trying to let people know what I was told by multiple people in the Nation Forest Services.
