Yup It came from binford with 2 bent drivlines and a bad trans.... Tex was cool about it he gave us a bunch free parts like mass air sensor, taillight, IFS box.......at least he tried to make it right. We put a W56 trans in it since it was 4 inch's longer and already had no drivlines.

Now we dropped it off to the mad scientist with about a G and said GETT'ER DONE....LOL!

Lets all see what he does to this one.........:corn: I forsee Chevy springs.....Rears in the front........fun fab work.....high steer.......welded rearend.......and wheelin in our future.....LOL!!:awesomework::beer:

Thanks Chopshop for everything!!:awesomework:

I had the guys bring out some wrangler 5 leaf packs we got off the board for 30 bucks with a bad top leaf. They were nasty.

got them all cleaned up and primered.

The plan is to use the 4 lower wrangler leafes under a set of three top leafes from a third gen toyota rear.

I end up cutting two of the wrangler leafes at one end to keep the complete pack staggering down progressively. Then they get assembled with a new pin and some paint and make a nice flexy spring.

Then I needed to get the springs hung and moved forward about 4 inches.

Cant hang springs without shackles. Got busy cutting some 3/8 flatbar to length.

Drilled some holes next. 18 mm at the top for the toyota bolts and 14mm at the bottom for the spring bushings. All four on the money by hand.

Needed some spacers on the bottom of the shackle to make the difference up between the upper bushings and the narrower rear spring used. I dug around and found GM cone washers to be the exact size needed, perfect. Welded them to the lower holes on the shackles.

No store bought parts yet. :kissmyass: :corn:

Got it all set on its own weight. I am very happy with the shackle angle and the location of the axle. Its not very tall either.:awesomework:

that is by far the coolest front spring hanger i have seen on a toyota did you build it like that just to keep the truck lower, and or keep the shackles off the body mounts? so how far total did that setup move the axle forward?

It moves the axle foward about 4-5 inches total. Its the same setup as in my blue toy aswell. You have to move it that far forward to use the stock shackle locations. It helps keep the tires out of the cab without lifting it to the sky. It should clear 38s easily.

yea i was actually working on putting my stock rears in the front of my truck tonight had to get the stock bolts out of the bushings they were nice and seized in the sleeves. im only on 35s and my tires were going to hit my cab so it needed to be done. i was planning on adding some springs to the pack not sure how many. another question it seems like after the rears are up front my steering angles might get all jacked up or should i be fine?

Sorry for the hijack...
