This thread may jump around a bit while I get it caught up, this has been a back burner build for the last few months so it's been randomly worked on off and on.
This thing started life as a full frame yota pick up, leafs front,4 link on air cannons in the rear and a cage that was nearing the end if its life.
After we rolled Ray's buggy out most of our group has been stepping up their game. Scot was no different, choosing to let me have free reign on rebuilding the yota into something that would keep up between the rock trails.
First thing to go was leafsprings followed quickly by the rest of the frame from the cab forward..and then the rear section
The drivetrain was mounted high up in the frame, getting it moved back and down was key to getting weight distribution right.
Missing a few pictures here, chopped out the firewall and floor from cowl to the backwall.
New .188 wall front rails and rocker bars. Also playing with motor placement.
Rear section going together
Main tubes in, working on getting tubes in to base shock mounts off.
Transmission hanger, you can also see the start of the subframe for the link mounts coming together.
