Cant Keep Seals From Leaking In My Gm 14 Bolt. Does Anyone Know Of A Better Seal Or Any Tricks That Would Help. Any Suggestions?

I've had this same problem.Changed once and it leaked worse than it did before I changed it!
Changed again and polished spindle really good first.....but I swear I think it's still leaking a little bit. :****: :dunno:

Make sure your vent isn't stopped up. If it is it will build pressure & cause it to leak.

Offroad Design is selling a seal that is like a stemco brand used on semi axles. Some sterling axles in fords use the same type. I purchased a set but haven't installed them yet. They look to be a good quality seal but a little pricey at 29.00 ea but if they work there worth it.

CanT Keep Axle Seals From Leaking In My 14 Bolt. Anybody Know Anyting I Can Do To Help Stop This?

Do they have a groove worn around the spindle or some other issue to keep them from being smooth like rust pits ?

I Cant See Any Thing Visibly Wrong. It Hasn't Been That Long Since I Replaced Them. They HeldUp Good For A Couple Months. Now I Just Add Gear Oil JustTo Make Sure ThereiIs Some In The chunk

Im Going To Pull The Axle And Bring It To Work And See If There Is Any Runout On It. I Just Thought There Might Be A Outer Seal I Could Put In It To Try And Catch It In The Tube!

you could run inner seals like you use on a rear steer setup and put wheel bearing grease in the hub bearings! But you will have to pull the carrier out to install the seals just like a Dana 60

Google search Chicago rawhide speedy seal I think the part number may be 99218 but not 100% my jeep thats in my avatar has one them on it my spindle was kinda pitted from rust I got one at my local O'reillys if that number is not correct I think I still have the box at home

Redi-sleeve from carquest. I just put one on my 14 bolt spindle. It will cost you 50 bucks but it's worth it.

Semi float or full float? I see people talking about a spindle but you said taking the axle to check for run out. Really depends on the type of rear end as to how you repair it or the parts to use.

Im talking about full float I assume that is what he has since its the most popular
