Dynamite Design said:Interesting. Were they powder coated clear? My thought on it would be that it would burn out all the oils embeded in the material. The finished parts I am dealing with will be oiled down when they are complete and then dried. Then it will get clear coat spray paint for easy touch up.
Jduck said:They have to sandblast it first, so it wont look nearly as good as it does now. At least thats what my local powder coater told me when I wanted to do the same thing.
P said:I came in late but I think this statement and the fact you want to clear coat it raw explains everything to me. Very out of the box and show of craftsman ship. I think in a lot of areas this will look badass, but time will tell when you connect or end all the open ended bars. Don't let the interweb change what you started man. There isn't a single thing out there that won't get nit picked by a web fabricator LoL
I think it's neat and different, and will go back to watching for the finished product now
Dynamite Design said:Yeah, powder was never in the plan. That heater gets so hot it would dull the colors.
