Re: Buggy only trailers.

I want to build one like Ken Blume's hauler. No suspension, but he says the trailer tire and buggy suspension soak up the shock of the road. Gonna start on one soon.

Re: Buggy only trailers.

Would these not be to much weight for a single axle trailer? If not I bet you couldn't tell those would even be behind you.

Re: Buggy only trailers.

I have a rear rockwell I was thinking about using and running 4 of the 37" military take offs. Also want to make atleast the front have mechanical tie downs by using 1" pins though 2plates on the trailer and 2 on the buggys axle, then use normal straps on back.

Re: Buggy only trailers.

I built this one years ago, the only thing I hate about it is that's all its good for is to hall our crawler.
cant hall a car or small truck.
probably will sale it before long and just bye a 16 foot trailer.
good luck with your build, those are pretty cool trailers you posted.

Other than width, what makes it not able to haul other things?

I can see that with some of the others, but types is close to a std trailer.

I have thought about something similar using a Rockwell rear & Isuzu 16" dual wheels.

I think this is a good idea for the fullwidth rigs esp, as an alternative to a heavy deckover.

If you made it wide enough you could possibly still retain a flat deck in the middle for hauling other things

the tires of our rig or any other rig run over the top of the frame over the trailer tires
you could not put a street car or any other car on it. I will post you some more pics
85" wide. 48" wide on inside of frame

Re: Buggy only trailers.

besides being difficult to drag a dead or broken rig over some of those wheelwells shown, they are nowhere near practical. you're better off buying a cheap 16" bumper pull and call it a day.

Keep in mind that someday you may have to try to load your rig up missing a knuckle or an axle after a bad day on the trails

I agree. The only plus to having a buggy specific trailer is people won't try to borrow it all the time. Of course I don't have trouble telling people hell no they can't use my ****, so that's not really a big deal for me

there is nothing practical about wheeling, and limited room at home for parking it is one of my reasons.

I need to start telling people they can't use my trailer. Every time it comes back something is ****ed up and I gotta fix it.
