If there's one thing I really love to do its trash talk Fords but I'd hate to see somebody's truck burn like that.mitaker said:Had the 06 F350 but it caught fire...

Hate you lost your truck but the trouble my buddy's have had out of their 6.0. It might have been the best thing that could've happened.mitaker said:Had the 06 F350 but it caught fire...

Transmission went out in my 1/2 ton and I've been thinking about going 3/4 ton but I'm still not sold on a diesel. Mileage might be better but I can buy a lot of gallons of gas for what it cost for diesel repairs vs repairs on chevy gas motoruntchabl said:The gf and I love camping in it. Pulls the buggy well, has plenty of space inside for our stuff and the air mattress but best of all it cost pennies compared to a diesel truck.

I was certainly a blessing in disguise, I have no complaints about the 6.7 over the 6.0 except the payment of course...04rubi said:Hate you lost your truck but the trouble my buddy's have had out of their 6.0. It might have been the best thing that could've happened.

Ok I think this is on here somewhere but here goes the abridged version.3j7 said:now tim you need to tell them the circumstances surrounding the fire and what you did about it! that story is awesome!
That's sad but an awesome story. Cool to hear you're from Cincinnati too. I was born there and live in Columbus now. We'll have to hook up and go riding sometime.mitaker said:Ok I think this is on here somewhere but here goes the abridged version.
We were on our way from Cincinnati to Moab for EJS 2013. We had to take the southern route through OK and TX due to a snow storm that had parts of I-70 closed. Near Tulsa the truck overheated. I couldn't get close enough to read the guage but I'm thinking it was in the neighborhood of 2000° based on the pile of molten aluminum after the fire was extinguished! Not to be deterred we rented a 26' Penske truck and put the 2 Jeeps that were on my gooseneck in the back. We continued on to Moab, wheeled for the week, and then drove it back to Cincinnati! A local (Tulsa) gas station owner took my trailer to his house and stored it for a few months until I could get back down to pick it up.
Looking back it's a hell of a story, but at the time it was a little stressful!
