Im thinking about buying a new trailer, or maybe a used one, but after shopping around on craigslist I have seen a few that are priced new for not much more than what some folks are asking for a used one.

I am looking for a 18, 20, or 22 ft bumper pull with a steel deck. I'm not opposed to the wood floor but like the idea of welding the tie downs directly in front of the axle of my jeep for straps with hooks. I am planning on using it to pull my stretched CJ7 on tons and a Polaris 550 cross loaded.

I have seen ads for new ones around 2K. i just dont know if these are cheap built trailers or if folks are really overpricing the used ones (most used I have found are 1800-2500).

I figured some of you have connections with one of the trailer builders around north Alabama or middle Tennessee, or at least have a idea where a guy would find a deal on one. Would like to find it with-in reasonable distance of Northwest AL or southern Mid-TN.

Just bought a 20 ft new one off of Craigslist for 1800 it's got a wood floor , hide away ramps, brakes, pulls pretty dam good up to 100mph :****: the guy was pretty good to deal with he goes and picks 8 at a time up in Memphis and brings them back to Knoxville , he can get bout anything you need sounds like

There is a dealer on CL in Huntsville or Athens, maybe one both places. Idk. But has a solid metal 18 ft for 2200. I have seen some with 4" frames and some with 5" C channel.

I'm not local, but just bought a 20' wood deck for $1795 in Houston. They wanted $50 a spare so I grabbed 2 and a hitch lock for $2217 out the door. Also, always go with more trailer than you think you'll need.

Triune trailers off of 840 between Columbia, TN and Murfreesboro, TN has New 18' wood floor, hideaway ramps etc for $1595.

I've got a custom built 22' dovetail trailer built in 2012 I'd be willing to sell to get into an enclosed one. I had it built to put my razor across the front and my buggy on back. 5 aluminum wheels and tires. Brakes all around, but it's a little more than $2k. Pm me if interested.

I'll have to look for his number but there is a guy in fayetville TN I bought mine from that has the best prices. Runs the place out of his back field. My 20' full C channel 6k axles brakes, was only like $2400 or $2500 brand new. Damn good trailer so far. I think it's #10,400 rated.

That sounds like a good deal. The bigger axles would be a plus, especially for the price.

would this be the same guy?

For those of you who have a similar trailer, what did you do about the fenders and having a rig with full width axles? All the ones I have looked at are 82" wide unless it was a deck over.

I kinda hate to buy a brand new trailer and cut off the fenders or at least plate them. Im sure for more money it could have custom plated drive overs added.

Just wondered what some of you did to a new one to make a fullsize ride fit on. I was planning on just cutting them off if I got a used one but may have to do the same with a new trailer. I did see one ad that said for 120 per side they would make the fenders removable.

They make wider bumper pulls. I run full width and squeeze right in between my fenders. Running 4.5 bs 17" wheels. With the 15" wide ass iroks I had prior I drove over 1 fender.

Just got a new 20' all steel. 82" wide. He (cotter) can order it with removable fenders no extra cost. It was 2197 tax and all. If you are out of state I think you can avoid sales tax.

That looks like the best deal so far, I'm in TN over in Wayne County just west of Lawrence. We have a farm tax number that might work. Thats probably what I will go get if I don't find a used one this week, waiting on a guy on here to get home with his and I'm gonna check it out.

Also messaged Chasman9 and am waiting to see exactly what he has.

Cotter trailers are built at P and T trailers in North alabama somewhere. I don't know if they sell to the public or not. Cotter used to build his own but P&t builds them cheaper than he could, so he is just a middle man now I guess. Still a good deal.
