BB vs SB

My triton is at least 500hp give or take 300.
Ive never ran one off road but i have a free one so I'll give it a whirl.
Might through a cheap turbo on her if its a turd on power.

Planning on running the stock motor until I have the money to build one. Balanced rotating assemblies for a 383 and a 530 are basically the same price.

Go with what you can afford, I am partial to the big blocks but either will do the job. Iron Chevy big block vs. Iron Little block your talking about 100 pounds or so. Plenty of ways to lose 100 pounds else where.

My buggy weighs 4240 without me in it and a big block just to give you an idea. I didn't try to run the lightest parts you can get either, 14B front and rear, 400 turbo and a NP205. I could save some weight in other places. I took the transfer case out last night and its a heavy bitch by itself.

Here's my 460w around somewhere in the ballpark of 650-700hp with torque curve right with it!!

Re:

I'm not worried about weight, since I plan on running a 3/4 body rig with rockwells

Results are back on dyno testing my 460W. 620 hp @5950 rpm, 616 tq @ 4600 rpm on 93 octane with a hydraulic roller cam. It made 473 tq as low as 1600 rpm! Im very happy with the results. I vote is a big inch small block!
