What's everyone's opinion on the procomp stickies? :dunno: Has anyone here ran them :driving: and can compare them to all the others?

Well as soon as I get a shipping quote I might just pull the trigger on these lightly used ones and see what they are like. Worst case I'll put them back up for sale.

Re: Procomp stickies??

I think it's hard for anyone to be the first guy to dump huge coin on an unknown sticky. I would call pro comp and ask about what race teams use the tires you are looking at. Then compare your rig design with theirs and align yourself with where they finish or don't finish consistently. Then make your decision

Most of the time, buy cheap buy twice, is a good moto

I sent Kevin Adler an email from the ultra4racing.com link, and his Facebook page, neither have been acknowledged as of yet. Team Chaos racing runs them on Justin Hall's old buggy and they worked well when we competed at werock here in Texas. They said he can be hard to get a hold of, and may have met his capacity for sponsorship this year. I would love to try a set, and will definitely let everyone know how they work if I ever get them.

I haven't used the new MT2 stickies but back in 2003 we did use a set of 40" X-Terrains in Pro Comp's sticky compound. They worked really well. In 2012 I had a set of 37" X-Terrain stickies and I wheeled them at Johnson Valley and was very happy. The Pro Comp's are a soft compound. My current red label BFG's aren't as soft but they are sticky. In my opinion there is a difference in being a soft tire and a sticky tire. The Pro Comp's I've had are softer than a BFG and a maxxis. I'm not sure they are more sticky but they did hook up good. I'd be really interested in running the new MT2 to see how they compared.

These are the xterrain version. Still up in the air on them on getting them, mainly because of the 20inch trailready wheels I'll get with them and have to resell due to wrong pattern. Tires look good though and think it's worth a try to step into the sticky game.

So checking the sidewall numbers these tires were made in 2006... Is a 10 year old sticky with good tread something to say away from? :dunno:

I would think they'd be fine, especially if you are getting a good deal on them. My Reds are old as dirt and cracked everywhere but hook up great.

Re:

Are you 100% sure they are stickies? Back around 2007-8 they sold off all the 40x13.50r20 xterrians for dirt cheap.

I had a set, they said something like "xtreme competition tire" on the sidewall, but they were definitely NOT stickies.

Yeah I looked for the XTC or XCC but all the sidewalls are blank where the circle is that should have that. They do say not for Highway use and do not exceed 40 mph though. Which I have only seen on stickies. But they do not say only for rock crawling like the others I have seen.. Anyone she'd any light on that or the logo?
