Educate me o wise ones. No i will not sell or trade it for another brand.

So last year I put a piece of 1/2 inch plate in the bed of it the full size of the bed, this seem to help settle the ass end while driving unloaded. My question is and I know that it has a heavy ass motor but did this also make the front end pick up some? I am asking, should I add weight to the front so that it settles the front end as well.

It has almost brand new Bilstein's all the way around it, I understand that its a 1 ton 4x4 with a live front axle and will not ride like a luxury car. When i bought it in 2010, not so much of a bother but now in 2017 it starts to wear on my nerves after driving for a couple of hours.

I suggest that you ditch the plate and just lower tire pressure if you tend to run empty.

I have a 99 crew cab f350 dually (leaf springs on the front vs your coils) and I notice no difference in ride quality with a full 100 gallon fuel tank in the front of the bed, a 450 lb fifth wheel hitch, and a 500+ lb tool box vs an empty bed.
I do however notice a big difference between 80 psi and 65 psi in the tires.

I have stock replacement Monroe shocks on mine.

The biggest difference I ever noticed in ride was when I put new Springs on the front... I noticed a broken leaf so I replaced them both.... Gained 2" in height and got much softer. I plan to replace my rears too as I expect that to also soften the ride.... might help you too.

My 350 rides like ****.. but its a 1 ton truck. What else can you expect? If i wanted the ride of a car i would have bought a car. Thay are built heavy as hell and ride like thay are. Only thang that makes mine ride half way nice is to load a back hoe on it or full my big ass dump trailer full. But at the end of the day i bought a big truck to do big jobs. I didnt buy it for ride quality. If you want half ton ride buy a half ton

For all of you whom like to tell me that its a 1 ton and they dont ride like a car, I specifically stated that in my original post. I was merely looking for legitimate ideas that may help in an easier ride. Thanks to those who actually responded with something of value and not just typing in a bunch of crap.

I chuckled at P's signature quote and the OP of this threads name. I guess you are worth a crap. :rolf:

I read the thread title and thought it was a "ride", like a benefit ride or raffle for an old truck. Maybe even a ride with only 06 SD trucks. :dunno:

Per his request, you have been warned......

I'd look for some progressive rate front springs (might have a bit of lift?)

and take the big plate out of the back, swap in some F250 rear springs, traction bars, and put assist air bags on the back for load carrying.

Did someone forget to take his meds again

I always laugh at people who think a 1 ton truck has to ride rough vs a lil 1/2 ton.... I've driven 'slightly' bigger trucks grossing 60 tons and more at 80 mph without so much as spilling my coffee....

Ditto. Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks helped also. We have a 2006 F350 PSD 4x4 Supercab.
