I wish I had been there to see this. My family rented a beach house in NC for the week. My fiancé and I were only able to go down for the weekend, but we let the kids stay, because we didn't feel right, cutting their trip short due to us not having vacation time. So Today she caught this on her Barbie fishing pole, her own cast and reeling it in herself. So far in 3 days fishing she was the only one to catch a keeper.

My daughter turns 6 tomorrow. We traveled to see the eclipse and she was having a pretty good time. Low and behold, she gets a 3/8 inch splinter in her foot....I cut it out with a scalpel, and she threw me under the bus, drove over me and backed back over me to make sure everyone knew I was the devil.
After the 3 hour ride home, she apologized and said she didn't think I was trying to kill her and that she'd snuggle with me in my bed. Melts my heart to know that I caused her immense physical pain, removing a splinter and she still wants to love on me.

My wife and I couldn't have biological kids as she lost all her eggs during her bout with breast cancer. She won but the eggs didn't. I helped raise her now 19 year son but being a step dad I never really seemed to be allowed to parent him like I thought i could or should . Fast forward 15 years and she starts talking about adoption and foster care as her son is now graduated and almost never around . I love helping kids and people in general so I went along with her to support her and try something new not really knowing what what come of any of this . We finished our foster care cerifiacation and got our license about 4 months ago for special needs and troubled kids. It was a slow start , we had some two day temporary kids and I was out of town at the ultra 4 race when that happend. We got a call 3 weeks ago and I never thought my life was gonna change in one day but it did. A blonde hair blue eyed 4 year old boy with Neurofibromas . He has a tumor on his optical nerve and one on his spine . He's been to 4 other foster homes so far and we are his 5th. As I read his file I was scared and didn't know what I was gonna do. He showed up to our house and all I saw was this awesome little boy just full of life. I didn't see any disability . I guess my heart was in the right place at the right time. Now CJ does everything with me. He loves the buggies and being outdoors . Only real issue so far is that he loves my wife's PINK axle helmet but we are working on that ! It's crazy how things fall into place in life . I didn't know my life was gonna change but it's ok and I'm totally fine with it . CJ is open for adoption soon and since we are his foster parents we have the first choice to adopt. At this point it would break my heart to see him anywhere else . I see why this thread gained so much traction about the proud dads out there !

Not bad for just turning 4. It's amazing how they watch and absorb everything. He's been on my lap in larger equipment since he could hold his head up. His favorite is an excavator. Walks around alot in public with his excavator hand picking things up. I'm sure people think he has some physical issue.

I have never owned a dirt bike, but decided to get the kids some. I got my 8 yr old boy a crf110 and the 6yr old and 5yr old boy and girl crf50s. With in 2 days of riding them they are already jumping the driveway ditch and haulin ass. Makes me nervous but man they are having fun with them. Bonus is that they all have a ride to help move cattle from pasture to pasture now. I might even have to get one for the ol' lady and I so that we can ride with them.

I came across this thread about the time we found out my wife was pregnant. He'll be a year old later this month. I don't know where the past year went!
Here he is down Eric's garage. I can see him and little Dones tearin **** up already!

I mean he was only 18 hours old and tellin the world to go to hell. Lol
Other day our baby sitter was sick and it was kinda of last minute so I just took her to work with me she did pretty good spent 5 hours on a D8 never got fussy but about 11 she looked at me and said "daddy I hunnnggrayyyy" it was the funniest thing I ever heard it sounded like somethjing some old man would say
