What's everyone's thoughts on bolted tires? What's the best way to bolt a set?

I did read some old post, just wondering if it was worth doing?????

They dig but man they destroy trails..I'd like to see them banned from every ridding area.

I road at Livingston for years and the trails always looked about the same, then the chain-drive rails showed up with bolted swampers and you could see the conditions go to ****. Then a couple years later the econazies roll in with water samples full of silt and 909 was no more.

I built a set and asked around before I did em, most common setup I found and used was 3" carriage bolts 1/2" diameter , put a 5/8 flat washer on the bolt head and pushed bolt through from the inside . Then put 1/2" flat washer on the outside and 3 hex nuts and weld the top nut to the bolt . I made a drill just like a snowmobile track used for ice picks. It takes a core out so the bolt can go through

I just bought a set of used boggers, thought about bolting them but I've never done it before.

Everyone likes pictures!

Bolted 44" boggers on that low pinon CHEVY 60? Ill get started on you a hp FORD axle... lol

If I do it I'll probably only do the rear tires :dunno:

Edit, the R&P would be the only concern, but shouldn't be any worse than a 43 stickie?????

It probly never give you any trouble. I just wanna get some FORD parts under that buggy! Lol

I'll take a pic and post it . I used 4140 solid . 75" round bar and heat treated it when I was done just by quenching it in oil but that step could probably be skipped , you might even be able to buy one already made idk. I just copied and made it bigger then a snowmobile track pick drill

Here ya go

So 2 of the boggers have less tread, if I'm going to bolt 2 of them do I bolt the ones with more tread? Or the ones with less? Thoughts????
