03 chevy trailblazer driveline type noise???

im sure its from the rear just replaced the u joints on driveline and i still have a slight ticking clunking noise while moving ..goes fast with speed and seems louder on right turns? checked the diff decent fluid no metal inside..put a magnet in there .no noticeable rocks or anything in brakes...was driven with e brake on ..but im lost.... thanks:corn::corn:

Front CV axle. You can visually check by looking at the boots on the front CV's and seeing if they are torn and throwing grease.

Are you sure its from the rear? Those rigs are hard to pick out the location of the sound because they are one big tuning fork and sounds will amplify all over the place.

CV---most likely not.

Your best bet is to get it off the ground and run the rear in the air to verify that its indeed in the rear.

ya it is hard to tell front or rear...front cvs look visually fine no rips ..but im goin to jack it up and test everything..thanks

ok.. just a thought....

on my 2001 blazer, I had the same noise...

it turned out to be the front wheel bearing hub assembly going bad...

doesn't hurt to check that out while you are down there too..

well i finally got time to jack it up the rearend and put it in drive ...the noise is a for sure from the rear 3rd member i can feel it with my hand...so what pinion bearings maybe....pinion nut looks untouched..i have been very abusive to this rig..anything will help thanks

Probably pinion bearings. I have done a few in those rears...

Won't be able to get an accurate price on such a thing until torn down and checked out....

Does this happen often on these? I talked the wife into an 06 trailblazer over the Pathy cause it was just a better deal at 12,500 with 70K on it.
