Does any one know were to get a good 1350 u-joint that will hold for more than one day . I have run several brands from spicer - precisions . The same thing happens ever time . The caps either shatter or it eats all the needle bearing out and breaks the u joint . I grease them every ride . and the drive shaft is straight with the yoke never in a bad angle . I called and talked longfeild earlier today to see about a 300m or chromolly and he doesn't have or know of any out there .

So my question is what are you running and how well are the holding up .

Post up a picture of the driveline angle in question. I've always had good luck with Spicer joints :dunno:

CTM Racing ha$ 300M 1350'$. You won't break them, but they aren't cheap. :dblthumb:

Longfield sucks.

Sounds like you might have a spring wrap issue causing the yokes to bind aginst each other. I was having the same thing.

Tryed the non-greasable Forged Spiced 1350? A lot stronger than the greasable, :dunno:

Sounds like somethings not right. I have been running 1350 joints in my buggy since new and haven't had any problems.

My Angle is pretty good . Id like to get something figured out . maybe i need to get a set of solid caps instead of the straps ? I would like to get the problem solved be for the race in next week .

Looks like the strap is a little short. Are you over tightening it trying to get a "full nut"?

Not being an ass...I ask because I had the same problem, mine was doing the same thing. Doesn't take much to warp the caps. I backed off on the pressure and it fixed the problem.

Try a tom woods 1350 gold seal. I use one of the flex joints from them and they hold up great and have a lifetime warranty.

I can't see thee picture too good on my phone but if your running straps instead of U bolts on your yoke that may be a problem. Try a good forged yoke with U bolts, mine has been in my rig for 3 years with no failures.

Im just a rookie on a budget but im running 1310 and 1350 spicers and leaf allway round good angles, no problems last 5 rides. May fall apart sitting in the yard but so far im a believer of SPICER just my 3 cents booyang booyang booyang booyang :dblthumb: :dblthumb:

I would take the drive shaft out , take the joint out ,clean both yokes, paint them,on the inside, put in a new joint and take it for a little ride. Stop, get under it and check the yokes to see if they are binding up. I kept breaking joints in my truck. And this was the way that I found the problem. Hope it helps you.

From experience in my past not all 4 links are perfect. Twist it up and check the pinion angles. Have someone video you truck from the side while trying to crawl up something and see if your having any changes in the pinion angles. I run spicier 1350's in my shafts and have twisted the splines on the shaft and my joints are still going strong. I run tons atlas 3.8 and a heavy foot in the 5.3 and 44's.

I wasn't going to say that about the 4 link. But that was what I was thinking. Sounds like your yokes are hitting each other? I KNOW JUST ENOUGH ABOUT A 4 LINK TO BE DANGEROUS.

EXACTLY what I was going to say. Alot of people think you need to torque down on the bolts on the u-joints, NOT TRUE. Just tighten down enough to keep them in place and give it another 1/2 turn at best. thumb.gif

If this doesn't work, check the air pressure in your Fetzer valve. You might need to add some ball bearings and 30 weight oil. molaugh

HA HA HA .. Thats funny right there .. I also been having a problem with my blinker fluid leaking .. :dblthumb:

ill get some new u bolts and u joints and see what happens .. Try not to tighten them down past touching . I may finish top 20 with my junk at the ecors if i can get this fixed .

check with your local spicer dealer - the spicer u bolts seem to be nicer than your average ones at an O'rielly or something
