HMMM..... I think I'll get one too. That HP set up would be nice on the BURB. I wont have to spend as much time retubin my driveshafts. AFTER EVERY RIDE.

man guys I was just kidding. I'm gonna let them get the bugs worked out first.

I knew Cole wasn't pimping that hard. That is a super cool idea, love the thinking behind and a 14b that is lighter and not such a shovel is GREAT!

WIll stock 14 bolt shafts work in it? Maybe I missed that, cause I suck at reading :****:

Didn't catch it either. I saw a bunch of chatter about custom cut and splined shafts on PBB, but that may just be an option.

That haven't said yet to much nut swinging going on in that thread.
I am going to try and call them tomorrow. It would be awesome to have the 14bolt strength with an ARB.

Well I broke down and ordered one. Going to have Jim mock it up for my buggy but not going to install it unless something happens to the 9".

Haha! We were talking about this the other night! Man that thing is P.I.M.P! :afro: Good job Cole!

i don't see why regular 14 bolt shafts woudlnt work. you'd have to weld on 14 bolt spindles and use the oem hubs odviously. but other than that all the other stuff is basically the same.
i think with a housing that pimp you'd need at least 40 spline to compliment it! :woot:

??? ??? ??? ??? ???

what HP setup?

stock shafts will work, you have to build the housing length to fit them.

as far as 40 spliners, etc, you have to find a company to broach your side gears. the stock shafts are about 37 spline dana spline pitch sized. You an turn the carrier out a bit to get a bigger shaft in there, but the 14 side gear gets pretty thin when you try to go as far as a rock shaft. That's why I was for putting rock side gears in the 14 carrier. Anythings doable with the right amount of money, but if an axle manufacturer steps up and makes a front axle blank that's large enough to make the stock 30 spline, what else do you need? Its proven as ****. Bigger is always better, and I think a company (Like ouverson or someone) should step up and make side gears that fit in an opened up carrier for detroits, ARB's and stock that are blanks that can be broached to 40, 16, whatever else you want. The constraint for a much larger shaft is the OD of the outer smooth surface on the outboard half of the carrier. I have not taken my ARB apart yet to see if it is of the same design or if you can just open it up to the 1.6+- "

I emailed them as well about the axle setup. How many splines, will they offer a knuckle choice or just stick with the portal boxes, etc....I'll post up any inside info I can get.....
