1985 Toyota Clutch help

There are 2 brackets , 1 is riveted to the firewall and the other is bolted onto the engine.

the rubber hose piece between the slave cylinder and pressure line snap into those bracks and are held by 2 (c-clips) i'm assuming.

hard to see because mine are extremely dirty.

I tried using a screwdriver to get them off, but it's extremely awkward since my truck is lifted the perfect height where I can't reach in the hood and do anything productive.

why do u need to take them off? are you changing the rubber line too?

Yes, the pressure line is rusted to the rubber line. So when I turn the pressure line it's bending the line and turning the rubber hose at same time. Plus it's easier to do that, then reach my arm inside the bay and sit and turn a damn hose to make sure it's tight

:D

i've changed

clutch disc
pressure plate
flywheel
rear main seal
tranny input shaft seal
throwout bearing
slave cylinder
mastercylinder

and now pressure line, so why not change the rubber hose too and sleep better at night. haha

well got the entire clutch system fixed and works awesome

hopped out while it was idling and noticed a gallon of oil on the ground.

the oil pressure sending unit - the hose snapped off the back and oil sprayed everywhere ... yay ..

what he said :P

i'm in oregon right now, had to get away from my truck making me mad .....

so I'll re-install this plug and fill the transmission with gear oil and woot hopefully no more problems.

then in the next few weeks, replace the oil pan gasket and some hoses, since I have antifreeze leaking from those places.
