2011 duramax problems

My brothers truck won't go over 55... He took it straight to the dealership when it happened and they had it for four days and couldn't fix it. We are taking it to another one today to see what they can do. Any ideas?

Probably something with the def system. My 2011 has 36k miles and has been in 4 times for it.

Depending on what software update you have ,some of them were not letting you know when the diesel juice was getting low and they would run out which screwed up the exhaust filter,it had to get a brand new filter installed,its a limp mode we only hit 55 downhill,lol.

They were thinking it had something to do with the def system but couldn't find the problem. The def was full when it happened also. My dads 2011 has around 40k on it and hasnt had a single problem.

Probably DEF problem as previously mentioned. Wait until it limits it to 4mph, then you'll really be happy.
