According to the YouTube videos that I watched, I was assuming that it was only a few hour process to get the meat off. I had it on a burner for almost 9 hours before I ran out of propane. Soaked it in hot soapy water over night then spent another two hours cleaning it the next morning. Brushed on volume 40 cream and let it sit for around 8 hours before rinsing. I'll pay someone 100 bucks or cut the horns off next time. I'm out of room for shoulder mounts so I decided to experiment with this one.
If anyone in the Birmingham area is interested in doing one themselves, I have almost a whole gallon of volume 40 that I'll give away.
I finally got em back from hydro dipping , neither buck were trophies but my son got the white one and I got the big 4 so I decided to have em done to remember this year that we both got buck
Over all I would say this is the worst season that I've seen in the 19 years we have been hunting on our property. Not sure what happened but most people that I've talked to said the same thing about their leases.
I didn't see any bucks big enough to shoot on the last weekend but this coyote picked the wrong time to run across the pasture.
Friend of mine had to put down an old sick cow so they just drug it over in the valley of the pasture everything frozen here couldn't dig. So anyway set up that night killed 3 and took off work and sit all day killed a few more. I think it time to start taking them out myself. I always try and shoot everyone I can..
Not to jump track here, but there was a newspaper article on the web that said some jackass got some wild hogs from down south, brought them to Union Co. Tn, bred them like crazy, then they all escaped. Sounds like we're gonna have bad crop but good hunting here around Knoxville.
