30,000 miles...

just be sure to clean out the burnt **** out of the snapring groove after burning it out.:awesomework: that **** stinks and will come out of the hole like a worm.

and for the record, jeeps would be OK if you could put toy joints in a d44.

a dude at the hammers killed a dana joint, transfer case output, square shaft, and a ford nine snout. all at the same time, but the toy joint at the case was fine.:fawkdancesmiley:

uh oh tried the bfh method:eeek: where are you located ? if your down south here come use my press or u-joint tool.

Thanks for the offer but I've always done them the BFH way, and with all the **** on my bench right now and the slightly larger size/weight... I slipped on #3. :looser:

awwww schucks... I'm blushing

Who said I was talking about you? :; :fawkdancesmiley:

After having to fix more stuff that was screwed up than what was actually fixed by various dealer and independant shops, if I don't know the person and know their work ethics then they ain't touching it. If I could have bought the truck without a warranty I would have.

All fixed, and the rest of the joints are properly secured in place so when they eventually go dry they can't fly out. :awesomework: I'd suggest EVERYONE with these joints do the same just for safety, I bet they're on more than just newer Dodges.

You're scaring me. Damn, i got 37K on my 05. I have not felt any vibrations or anything but now im all worried the damn ujoints are going to let go any minute:mad:

well when you start to feel a vibration. Get it fixed.. That should happen first, and you will certainly notice it. Even the axle shaft u-joints do it. They'll start to bind and pop.. Doesn't seem quite as common as the driveline u-joints though..

The vibe....or rather more of a soft shaking at 5mph... was intermittent up until last weekend and I HAD checked them. Short of removing the shaft there was no way to know which one it was so I decided to just give it more time to show itself. How was I supposed to know their shitty plastic glue crap would let the cap depart post haste? I was headed back from Baker when it finally got worse and before I got home it failed. Oh well. Pull shaft, drive home in front wheel drive. Big deal.

BTW, thanks for the tips on getting them out of the plastic goop guys. I would have been pounding on them for hours if I hadn't known. :redneck: :awesomework:
