383 SBC to Gen V LT4

That's awesome. Any dyno #s ?

I'll let AJ divulge that if he so wishes. It was pretty impressive what it put down on 40" stickies with Th400. ;) My long intake tube to get the air filter in a safe spot seems to be limiting the boost slightly. AJ is going to get used to it and see if he wants more power, as that can be changed later.

As AJ is on his way south to the Outlaw race this weekend I figured I'd put up some more pics of the build.

We got the Drive Junky kit last Tuesday, and got it installed that night. It was holding up all the finish plumbing plus we needed to size the belts. We got back from the dyno around 10PM, AJ did some 4HI launches and back in the shop it went. We thrashed straight thru the night, loaded up, cleaned up and headed out at 5AM Saturday to the 5th and final RBOR Race Series race at Rocks and Valleys Offroad Park in Michigan.

One of my favorite parts of the build is that noone makes a billet -AN waterneck yet for the LT, and for the LT4 with the Drive Junky accessory setup a straight out neck wouldn't work. So I designed one up to use a Gen IV T stat, and called in a favor and had a buddy 3D print one out of 17-4 Stainless. I had to massage it a bit to get it to clear, then tig'd a -16AN fitting to it.

Give us an update on the new Woopaw machine. We know you are good at going over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, and glad you are ok, just curious as to how the motor did? :dblthumb:

Holy ****. Am I seeing that right, bad rolls on two separate hills? That's brutal. I thought for a minute it was the same hill, different angle.

Yep, steering wheel came off at Hawk Pride Outlaw race and he said it went about 30' left on him. Then rolled last weekend at Windrock at R2R race.

Been a rough couple weeks of racing for sure. The race at Hawk pride was my own fault and all I had to do is hold the steering wheel strait and was coasting to a first place. Like Croes said i didn't lock in the steering wheel all the way and paid for it. Damage report on that was broken wheel and a bent lower link up front. A call to Wide Open Design and he had me one the following day. (Was going to be done racing for the year) then a spot at the Race 2 riches opened up and figured why not.....

Wife and I had a get away for the weekend away from the kids so that was nice. The race and event was unbelievable, so many runs, so many racers, so many spectators. I drew 49 out of 51 and the hill defiantly deteriorated through out the day. Not an excuse and had a line picked out. Had some last minute guidance and changed my mind and thought I was going the conservative route. Well I didn't get left far enough and took a bad bounce and come rolling down. Damage report 2 wheels, brake mount, brake caliper, and a trailing arm.

Motor is an absolute monster, runs and starts flawless. So much torque, I don't need to rev it out at all. I just short shift it and let it do it's thing. Numbers wise it made a couple hp & tq shy of 400 to the wheels through the th400 and since the case is made for a rear engine it was in 4 hi with the front driveshaft off. He figures about 50% loss through the drivetrain and tires. Justin the guy behind the dyno about jumped off the dyno the first pop. (Wish I had it on video) I tried getting him to do a panty dropper run but he wouldn't lol. All this is on 8psi of boost. After the motor is broke in good he wants it back and try to get the 13psi its got in it.
