5.3L Vortec Opinions

That sounds like a lot of HP for a cam, pushrod and spring swap. I would think that is a little high, seems like most folks are doing a lot more work to pull 400 horses from a 5.3.

On the 5.7 upgrades, a Ramjet 350 (Same as ZZ4) will add power but make sure you can find someone to tune the ECM properly. Jim's could never figure mine out and it leaned out bad

Ramjet and ZZ4 cams are different. The Ramjet cam will have more low end. The ZZ4 will have more upper end power but the 5.7 Vortecs are not a high rpm motor anyway. Jim's had mine locked in.

What will I have to replace with the ramjet? Cam, springs?

Just quoting CBM motorsports, of course they are talking fly wheel hp, with heads, cam, and a intake with injectors Its possible to get 450hp.

I changed the cam and put 1.6 roller rocker arms, headers and had jim do the computer

roberts ramjet was rated 350 at the flywheel and i drove both. not a whole lot of difference. i would think 300 or so at flywheel
