All the bling **** on a Dana 60 is just another way to polish a turd.

I prefer to wheel my rig rather then replace parts, constantly work on it--and have to back down because I was afraid of breaking my diff.....


And for the record in 4 years I have had to replace one hub and fluid changes.....

In 4 years you saw me replace the ONLY dana 30 shaft i broke....what's your point? :eeek:

EDIT: I just feel you build the rig a little above your means, for that "cushion" factor. But for me, right now, 60's are a little much, who knows, i could be eating my words here in a month...:corn:

yes, i have pushed the limits, of myself and the rig, yes, i have wheeled in liberty and naches, no trailer either:hi: . I have NOT wheeled out of state, but i DRIVE my rig to and from the trails, what does it matter if i wheel 10 miles from home or 1,000.....? YOU'RE RIG ISN'T DRIVING THAT DISTANCE....:fawkdancesmiley:

The problem with the cheapo junkyard dana 60 build is finding a housing that fits the rig. For a lot of jeeps and toyotas and even some buggies the housing will need to be cut or retubed. Then the stock shafts don't fit so now its time to bust out that grinder again.:redneck:

I have brand new GM dana 60 front housings for $450.00 each, that way you can build it the way you want.
 
I plan on installing a 60 front and 14 bolt in the rear. I have the rear sitting on the floor. Plan is to save for the front and hope that the 3.0l still lives or do a engine and tranny swap. I have to transfer cases sitting on the floor to so when I install the engine I will be installing the duals. I just do some here and some here when I need to now and save for the big items.

i can get a whole complete 60 front for less than that off a buddy that is why i was wondering what it would cost to build it and if it was worth it to do so and i think i will get it and start collecting parts:awesomework:
