90 e-150 tranny q's

My dad bought a 90 e-150 van with an e40d. First to second shifts fine, then won't shift into third or od. He took it to a tranny guy, friend of a friend. He said tranny was bad, bought a junkyard replacement and I had my help put it in when I was out of town. Drives the same. Any ideas? Any tranny guys on here I can pay to look at it?

Josh I had a problem with byrons work van after replacing it with a new trans it still did it turns out it was a burnt wiring harness. His buddy spliced it back together and no problems

Yeah, not sure but my dad wants to sell it and it would sell for more shifting. :awesomework:

Pull the tranny cover off from inside the vehicle then I think it's on the driver side of the engine the wire loom runs on that side look towards the top of the motor that's were we found the f uped harness it's worth a shot.
