90's throw back....Manche build

On the front axle, everything in the vertical plane is 3/16; all the horizontal pieces on top side are 1/8; all horizontal on the bottom side are 3/16, all p&o. The tube is 1.5 x .250 wall. The center of bump pads are 2" x 1/2 flat stock about 7" long total between the two.

It's not near as heavy as it looks.
Less than 1.5 sqft of 3/16, and less than 1 sqft of 1/8. Less than 25 lbs total added.

Yeah it's the very commonly overlooked design characteristic of today's on road vehicles.

Where you can sometimes gain more strength by boxing and bending with less material.

Looking forward to seeing this MJ side by side racing the mallcrawler for some Level 4 hairgel...

Pretty cool how similar those two are dimension wise. It's like you planned it that way or something:)

Front axle is done. (Aside from moving the fill port). Shocks are boxed, bash plating on lower differential, inside uppers plated, upper link mounts capped on front, and steering arm bracing, fully welded out. Now onto the front bump cans.



...and whittled this out with plasma, carbide bit, and a file....anyone want to buy me a plasma table?

Finally find some pics of my old Tellico cab truck!

85 cj7 frame, toy cab/clip narrowed 14"-cozy, Chevy leafs, 44/12 bolt 3.73, lock rights, 38tsl radials, double hump 327, th350, atlas2, home brew hydro steering, York on board air- clearance reason for hood scoop, rear radiator- and reason why I will never run another, split windshield no wipers or heat- squeegee on dash for condensation, home built 22 gal aluminum cell bottom feed attached to back of cab, street legal!

Circa 2000... I was 24 years old...holy history batman...

Pass front bump can done, along with last chassis triangulation. Finish other side, then onto exhaust, radiator, front clip tab out, and bumper finish...yay!

All the extra bracing you put on everything! :woot: Either you are planning to jump it off of Stone Mountain, or I don't know how my junk doesn't fall apart when it hits a pebble. :****: Love the build Matt.
 
Yeah that's my only complaint reading and watching this build. You have just half assed the process. Rushing through. Paying no attention to detail.

For sure it's all just gonna rip apart pulling off the trailer. I'm bummed for you . . . . . .

Just came by to check in and get my daily dose of vitamin BA(badass), I'm good now, plenty of badassary here to get my fix. Carry on, I bet you can't wait to get done.........

Even though I never in a million years would be as good a Fabricator as you, this is still a huge inspiration, and there's definitely a lot to be learned from your skills, out of curiosity, how many miles of weld do you think there is on this thing so far? Must be more than one would imagine
