A few folks I dislike today...

This is Matt O on John's laptop. Man we had a great trip, Rattlerock took us 5 hours on Friday. Dollar snapped a shock shaft and lost a brand new PS pump. I tore off a hydro fitting on the ram, had a spare and kept rolling. We toured the wind farm, it was awesome. Did Rail Trail today and it was a bitch. The entrance to it is insane. John did it start to finish no cable, the rest of us were not as lucky. It pretty much owned me. My f'd up tie rod with 1/4" thread engagement at the ram came apart twice, fixed both times but it needs a permanet fix. Bigwoody lost a motor on RT, or at least something bad in the bottom end. Great trip, met a lot of cool folks.

DE ram man, don't look back

DAMN, that sux that LS motor let go on him. :-[

5hrs on rattle rock, you guys suck. The last time I was there I was beat broke sore and ready to get out of that trail. Man that trail can be a bitch. Hat's off to John, no cable on railtrail thats definitly something to brag about in my book. Where at on rail trail did big woody break down? Man, I hope it was towards the end because I would hate to have to pull him through some the stuff on that trail.

Wow, those are some good pics John, the scenery looks beautiful. What trail is that with all of the boulders through the woods at the beginning?

Nice pics John, looks like yall had a good time. I bet your glad you have Rear Steer. Sux about Woodys motor.

Greg (Bigwoody) tore up the motor on the start of Rail Trail, the big rock ledge as you come out of the creek. All of you guys that like the crawling in Clayton, hit WindRock up. Only two really hard trails but both are a bitch and for 4-5 rigs they account for a weekend of riding. RattleRock is like a shorter version of Slim's Slope and RailTrail is just nasty. My pride was hurt after three times on the cable ;D John's first pics are RattleRock, the second set of trail pics is Rail Trail.

Joel, I stoped watching Bama football after the LSU game. Anybody can beat us when our QB is secretly playing for the other team :flipoff1:

This is the entrance to Rail Trail and this is the "line"

Just got in. We stopped by the KOTH course on the way home and hung out with the ORC crew and I got to meet Fred Williams! Gotta leave for work in 10 so I'll post pics late tonight or tomorrow.

Huge KUDOS to Nan. She shot some awesome shots of the countryside. Wow, I want to go there just for the views alone.

Did you get to tour the windmills?

Where is that again? How big of a place is it?

Awesome pics Nan!!

A bit too steep for 101 and loose front suspension! :o

Windrock is in Oak Ridge(kinda) TN, near Knoxville. It's 72,000 acres but only 2-4 good trails. two-three solid days easy.

How is it 2-3 days of wheeling with only 2-4 trails? Are they super long? They look good, but not overly hard.

Looks like a great place.....

If you have 4-5 rigs and you have zero problems all day you can ride both trails (Rail Trail and RattleRock) in a day, but you would have to have ZERO issues and no hangups on the trail. But splitting those trails up across two days would be more manageable. Both trails are longer trails, probably close to a mile or so each. The trails remind me of Blacksheep Blvd and Slim's Slope, just not quite as long. They are as hard or as easy as you want them to be, definately some sick "bonus" lines. To see the windmills and take in all the views, you would need two days. If you brought a 4 wheeler or Rhino also, you could spend a week riding it around. Like RB said, 72,000 acres, mostly tailored for the ATV crowd.

Damn nice scenery.
That one pic looks like a rock is trying to crawl in your passenger seat MattO
Whats BigWoody's wheelbase?

More scenic than Tellico, better main roads and the trails are about 100 times harder! I think BigWoody is about 105 or so, not sure exactly though. I actually had my half soft doors on and they were bowed in a bunch. From where I was, the line was hard passenger and bump it. The trans was slipping a little because of the angle, and I didn't really want to ruin the passenger side of my rig.
