I've come to realize that I'm not going to have my rig ready for the XRRA. I'm ordering a HP 3rd member and it won't arrive when I need it. Good luck guys and take lots of video. :)

blacksheep10: I bought a firesuit for this event. If it starts getting close and yours doesn't show up I can ship you mine and let you borrow it. I forget the size but I'm about 6' and 180 lbs and it fits me properly.

Kellys was a special made one for guys with three legs. Thats how hard he is! :woody:

Seriously, that sucks. You still have time to get it ready in time, its a week from Friday that we have TECH. Come one!!!! Are you at least going to come to the race and hang out? That sucks, just plain and simple. Light a fire man, get that **** knocked out. Can you even get your entry fee back from XRRA?

what do you need? I got a HP 4.10 arb third I could bring or a couple std welded thirds - all 4.10 though

( only way Im out is lack of money for remaining parts or tranny not catching a gear ..... I know nothing of my tranny and then went and put a full manual valve body in it.. )

They said my entry fee was in the mail. I'm going to order the 3rd member today but it's the regearing that makes it a lead time problem.

From here I've decided to focus my attention on the uwharriecross race. I think there is a real chance that I could win $2500 in the C class if I'm properly prepared.

Weaak!!

I'm sure we got guys here who can slap the gears in Friday morning before tech.

So does that mean Paul doesn't finish dead last? :flipoff1: Or is it only against guys that actually start the race?

Van has talked himself into this strategy to save the car for the race he has a chance to win

Man you guys suck! ;D

Here's the state of my rig:

1) Rear e-locker seems to be closed shut like a spool
2) Window nets are still in a box
3) Firewalls are partially complete
4) Cut off switch is not on the dash
5) Front R&P broken enough to lock up the front wheels randomly

I thought about just buying gears and swapping them in but Greg was right about needing a HP third. This is the third R&P I'm trashed (2nd in the front). It's time to switch to something a little stronger. I guess the fact that this race/trip would cost about $600 also plays a role. The repairs are expensive enough without the race added to it.

Yeah, that's playing a role too. If I was *really* motivated I could pull the third, regear it, and fix all my other issues in the nick of time and get down there to receive my beating at the hands of all the serious race cars. However, fixing things up first class and making some noise at uwharriecross (in the C division) seems like a smarter plan.

That's where your wrong, Vanguard knows I'm running the same class as him, so his chances aren't looking very good.

link to info on this uwharriecross for us please

So we can all show up and whoop your ass there since your scared to come to XRRA

Seriously though what gears do you run? I could show up with a HP 4.10 ARB front and 4.10 elocker rear. Let you borrow the front and sell you the rear to keep?
Look at the state of the rest of our rigs - aren't there like 4 on here that will probably make the first run ever at that event with ZERO seat time and unproven parts

How does he know he cant win at Ghey Rock?

Nolen, I love you to death man. But the race hatin' is played out. I agree with your statements, alot of money and time for little actual wheeling.
But I'm cool giving that up for now for the thrill of the race. Same as I'd give up driving every single day of the week to be able to have 3 hours behind the wheel each Sunday in the Nextel Cup. Thats the sense of your arguement to me. This isn't about the money or the wheeling. Its about doing something very few will ever try or attempt to do. Its about testing ourselves, our strengths, our weaknesses.
For me its not about money, fame, glory, whatever you want to make it out to be. For me its about seeing if I can be competive with guys that are "THAT LEVEL". Brian Shirley, Shannon Campbell, etc, etc, and so on and so forth, I'm talking about the current heros of offroad sports. And for ME, to have an opportunity just to take the field with such distinguished individuals says I have a chance. And if I never finish a race, well at least I'll know and I'll have that much more respect for those guys, and I will have humbled myself. But until I try, I'll never know, and I can't NOT know at this point in my life and pursuit of getting everything I can out of my life.
