Sounds good to me. So are you in? Who else from Alabama going?Brad I have to come right through ATL we could trailer up. 900 miles round trip for me
Maybe I can help. In addition to the rock race there will also be a rock crawl competition. http://www.americanwheeler.com/RockCrawl.aspxBamaTJ said:Yeah I would definately like to go, but we do have a club ride the week prior. I really need to think about it some more and make up my mind
The map? Yeah, I did that. It started just for me. People would post pics and videos of cool places and I'd hunt down the exact location so I could get a feel for what the trip would be like. After a while I started saving the locations and it filled out enough that I thought other people would like it. Some guys did and asked me to add more places. It grows every so often but the url doesn't change so nobody needs to update anything.blacksheep10 said:holy **** vangaurd, that mad is badass!! did you make that? very nice. I'ma use that now
Looks like you will be in D class Matt. C class is for 38" and under tires.BamaTJ said:Yeah until I register for C class, then you will have some competition!
If you need somebody to run with let me know. I'm taking this thing pretty seriously and plan on doing a bunch of pre-running too. I'll probably take a day or two off of work so the park will be empty but that makes it harder to find somebody to run with.GStone said:Borrow someones 38's and run in C...I'm pretty sure that's what Travis is doing. I plan on prerunning that bitch weekly once the park opens to get an idea of what a fast time would be for me. I've been tuning the shocks a bit for a high spped assault. I only hope the 434 stroked LS1 will be done by then. 3400lbs and well over 500hp should be a blast...
If you were a professional athlete would you take steroids? You already have an advantage with your current setup plus you have the chance to prerun and know the course very well. You know Greg you might be shooting your self in the foot with alot of horse power. Plus if you get used to running the course a certain way and get set into a grove any changes that happen due to other competitors messing up the course are going to cost you. Take a lesson from Shannon Cambell he won koth driving junk and not knowing the course.Borrow someones 38's and run in C...I'm pretty sure that's what Travis is doing. I agree....now you've got me looking for old videos of me running my M3&240z in SCCA events. I always got out to hard and either broke, spun out, or just got smoked by older calmer guys. Maybe I'm older and calmer now, huh?kid rok said:Guys like me never win these type of events, like I said earlier it's always the calm older guys that take the trophy, "slow is fast". I don't believe in that quote, but it works for some reason.
Just messing with ya, I had to put some negative thoughts in your head. Greg your going to do great you drive the hell out of your rig. I do think you should have Amy as your passenger and not Jim. Her laughing is priceless. Post up some of those old videos.I agree....now you've got me looking for old videos of me running my M3&240z in SCCA events. Yeah, he's been kind of lenient with the rules. On one hand I understand it. It sucks to enter the D class knowing the Rusty Bray, Shannon Campbell, or maybe Greg Stone will totally smoke you. On the other hand, I wouldn't be the least be surprised if the A, B, and C classes are all won by rigs that belonged in the next class.BamaTJ said:The guy actually told me I could be in be in C as is now, but who knows he probably just wanted my money
