Ok I franticly trying to get gibby's 4 runer done but I having a hard time trying to figure out this whole AN fitting thing but I am pretty sure I have it figured out but I wana make sure. What I have is a -6 male on the back of the fuel rails and I need to go to 3/8 hardline. But the one problem is I need the adapter to be as SHORT as possable because of the firewall. Here is something I found and I think its what I need

you could use a -6AN with a 45* also if you want. you can look here for fittings also Earl's you could also make a trip to renton to honest performance and pick up any AN fitting you need, but the one in federal way has the biggest selection in the state of AN fittings

Doesn't the hydro shop in kirkland also have a good selection of AN stuff too? Its so hard to get down south from where I am .

Pretty sure AN -6 is the same as JIC -6, so yeah, you're talking about common stuff there.

That fitting in the picture looks to be a flare to compression adapter fitting. If this is true you don't want it. As others have said just flare the tube or get a 90 fitting. 90 should be a bit tighter. Also beware that there are two different -6 flares. Automotive is different than industrial although both are 3/8" tube. Also do yourself a favor and stay away from that aluminum crap.

wELL I have to -6 AN nuts and I was going to just flare the ends and tighten them down but the 3/8" hardline is a hare loose in the nut. I assume from what I have found is there are inserts you can slide down the tube to take up that void? (I hope I have not confused everybody now)

Right, I think 37 degrees, and is it 45 degrees?

Ahh so those are compression fittings on the tube side--screw that I aint running that stuff. 45 degree is automotive...

The 45* stuff is SAE for the most part. As far as I know all the AN stuff is 37*. But yeah, kind of important to be aware of the difference :;

So whats a good method to go from AN -6 (male) to 3/8" hardline without using compression fittings?

Wait, now I'm confused... You have a -6 male on the fuel rail, and then a hard line... On the chassis? Um shouldn't there be a chunk of hose in between? Just go get a hose made with -6 female on one end, and whatever the heck you want on the other, such as some 45* flare suitable for the 3/8" tube... Which would be a 3/8" SAE flare I think?

The kit came with zero fuel line stuff. The inlet/outlet on the fuel rails are -6AN (male) and I need to go to 3/8" hardline that I can run down the back of the motor and down to near the frame rail where I can run a short piece of rubber hose to the hardline on the frame rails...:D

Correct Mike. If the nuts you have were intended to use the inserts you need the inserts.

I'm finding stuff that says AN and JIC -6 is 3/8" OD... Get out the (37*) flare tool and get to work :D
