Thanks, the tranny has a poly mount between the tranny and the plate. the tranny is positioned to the front of the crossmember. Hope that doesn't happen!!! thanks for the help!!

Post up a pic of it. It sounds like the transfer case is mounted to the steel plate with a poly bushing. if this is the case then when you bottom out on the skid it will shock the back half of the transmission (even through the bushing) and cause the transfer case to break the back off of the transmission.
