I have never had a problem with my 8 forged 1 1/4 johnny's 9/16th bolt.

I'm not sure what you're building, or how hard it gets beat on....

but I DO understand the....."hesitation" to run a 9/16" bolt.
All my links are 5/8 or 3/4" bolts...
all my big rod ends are still pretty tight...
all my 3/4" rod ends are kinda sloppy/rattly

and, to Crash's surprize, all my bushings have been holding up beautifully...

I searched through all of the previous posts about these but could not answer my question so..... Has anyone had any breakage issues with the 9/16 through bolts on these. To me they just seem too small to hold up to any kind of impact. I saw they do have 3" ones with a 3/4 through bolt but they are not available in a forged configuration with the stud attatched. Just wanted to know because I'm going to coilovers next and I dont want the bolt breaking and subsequently destroying the shock body when the axle spins. any info appreciated.

I've got 3 of the 2-1/2" Currie JJ's with the 9/16" bolts at the frame end of the links mounted in double shear. It's a 3 link D60 front on my 78 Bronco that runs over 6500# and it gets wheeled pretty hard. Been there 4 years now and all I do is keep em torqued and greased.

Here's what I came up with....
