I built a cooler once with some 6x9's and 5.25's. Used some head unit with a lawnmower battery. It was really good for tailgating

Talk with your local lumberyard about the exterior grade mdf, it tends to deal with moisture a bit better then the other.also keep the sub/speakers in a separate chamber or you will run into some cancellation. Proper airspace for the 12s i think i saw mentioned earlier would be bout 1-1.5 cu feet each, 6xwhatevers will live fine in something big enough for them to fit in.
