I was excited about 3.74 for diesel. But it still is affecting me everyday. Like I said, the people with the money arn't spending it. I see it when a 50ft SeaRay sits unused all year, something is going on. Might be a media driven panic, might be a real fear. Any way it make my days boring.

I am closer to retirement than y'all. I just changed my payroll deduction so it is going into a cash account. I cut the stocks that had lost over 42% this year in half, and took that half to a cash account. When Iooked this morning, I was down $17,000 in the last 30 days. I can't keep taking hits like that and retire when I want to..... soon! When the market starts going back up, I'll look at moving it back.

But, I am the king of buy high, sell low, so I may have just cured the economy. ;D

And it thanks you.

Term Limits, Ronald Reagan, Mavericks, Joe Sixpack, out!

I was looking at some stock history for my company... Our stock has reached $50 a share within past year and is consistent between $35 and $45... it is $7.90 today... if I could drop $100k into stocks, wait till they hit even just $35 a share---I could profit $343K and give that $100k back on top of that.. Of course now you're talking alternative minimum tax of 45% from Uncle sam and so really take home profit is $188k... STILL!!! That's not bad! Someone wanna let me spend their $$$??? :flipoff1: Could pay my house off, build a shop and have all sortsa toys for $188k!

WTF is gas still $3.71 by me? The rest of the country is dropping and NC is damn expensive. As for my investments, I have a pretty big tolerance for dropping stocks, maybe too much? I've ridden out the .com crash, the 9/11 crash, and now this one while just dollar cost averaging in the S&P 500 and making a few individual picks on my own. I might do better if I got out faster but it's hard to say that I'd time getting back in correctly.

Last year I sold off some stock options to buy my wife a new car and take the family debt to $0. Now I'm feeling pretty good about the call. That wealth was going to be gone either way but now we have a new car. Heck, I should have sold more.

I'm with you though it's going to take a war to resolve. It's just a shame we don't have enough officials with balls to pull the trigger.
and we're going to elect obama? ::)

.

One major difference with this crash from the 30's is how much the govt. is getting involved DURING the crisis. I don't like the socialist leanings at all. I say let the MFer crash and lets figure it all out afterwards.

for someone with a lot to lose, that's bold for you to say. I also like it. Wyatt has worked as much or more than anyone I know to build wealth in a short time and stands to lose a lot. I can see his concern, but agreeing with you a bit, its a bit much to voice it sometimes :flipoff1:
on the Socialism. No really, we're electing Obama? can't people see this? Yep, lets make the govt own all the banks and credit and houses. **** it, go all in. ::)

I'm selling a truck bed next week for somewhere in the 3K range. I want to get it off before it rallies, and buy when the marked is in the 8K range. :woody:

I had meetings all day today, about what to do if a certain LARGE bank files bankruptcy on Sunday evening. My exposure $170m or so on one deal.
yeah no beuno......

I hope they don't, hope they get bought or bailed out this weekend. The deals are being done, just hope in time. Y'all could figure it out but I'm not saying their name isnt Organ Manly. :-X

Hell since 8/31/08 till now I have lost $9600.00 I lost $6800 in the last 10 days. At this rate I will be at zero before to long.
Oh well, Hopefully it will start rising back up one day. I have atleast 26 years to go.
