Axles: what should I do?

There are several kits out there for rear disk brakes, ranging from "full kit" to just brackets and you source your own parts. With a little work, you could probably make your own rear disk setup with some e-brake calipers. Many people have tried it with varying levels of success, but I'm not sure what problems have come up. I like the idea of a mico-lock for some applications, but not for a long-term e-brake.

the problem is he is passenger side drop i assume... i agree with the 44/60 combo, or look for a 44 combo out of a older waggy/jeep truck

That's what I have for sale in my '76 J10 (with J20 axles) Not sure the ratio, but it's probably 4.10. (haven't checked yet, but will this week since I'm off)

Hi All:

Really not a big problem. Until you get the upgrade axles you want, simply bring a wheel chock along in the rig.

When you park the rig, you put the auto tranny into park, right? Then once you've gotten out of the rig just toss the wheel chock under one of the tires. Unless you are parked on the side of Queen Anne Hill the rig is not going anywhere.

Regards,

Alan

Well, if I keep 'em. I have another problem. I have no parking brake. It wasn't a big deal when I had the 3-spd, but the auto makes me nervous. I don't have enough drive shaft to sacrifice room for a driveline brake. I guess my only other option is some kind of line-lock. Has anyone done this before or heard of it being done. Does it work?
