Awesome work man! I love it. Are you imagining towing it to its first shakedown run, over and over in your head? Haha
haha, yeah I have built it countless times, and been riding in it a few years in my mind.....
Thanks for the compliment.

Re: Bamatoys Buggy Build "Goat v2.3"

I like the build, but I have a question about the shop. Part of my barn it a metal building like you have. It is not insulated and is very noisy in the rain. What did you use for insulation? How did you attach the insulation to the metal of the building? Next time you are taking buggy pics, get me a couple pics of the ceiling? I'm sure it made it easier to heat, but is it quieter also? What is the thickness of the insulating panels? Did you do it yourself or hired out?

Sorry for so many questions, but I have been wanting to do something to mine since I built it in 2002.

Re: Bamatoys Buggy Build "Goat v2.3"

Thanks John, the insulation is called "double bubble". One side is white and the other is foil, basically it is a thicker version of bubble wrap with the bubbles facing each other. I dont remember the R value at the moment, I will update later when I find out. As far as noise, it really doesn't help.
Thickness is around .300
The insulation is sandwiched between the hat channel and metal panals. Before the exterior panels are installed double back tape holds it in place
From what I remember you can get 6ft and 4ft widths and in 100ft lengths.

Its not the best insulation, but for a building like mine its the easiest and fairly cheap.
The main reason you want insulation in a metal building is for condensation, and this prevents that.

The company I used to work for installed the building. With 2 workers it took a day and a half to complete on my finished pad.

John have you check on the spray foam?its looks like it would be real thick a good insulation and good sound barrier

I know some folks who have a sprayfoam company up here in Marshall County. It ain't cheap, but it seems to be the way to go

I didn't want a fancy dash, the interior cramped enough my fatness, so I made something simple to basically just hold the column.

added a steering wheel hook, I figured if I didn't it would end up in a ditch somewhere. I know I would leave it on the roof.

view from the drivers seat, one of the only thing I had to have, visibility. I drive bad enough as it is ,without a clear view I would flop more than Mo....well probably not as much...
