The hardware that comes with TR bead locks are grade 8.

Is this question because of the price difference?

And what is the price difference?

If the head of the bolt is not recessed in the bead clamp I would buy grade 8 IMO.

so, would you use a different grade for a 16 bolt ring, VS a 32 bolt ring? i still need to get hardware for mine. i've got 32 bolt rings.

I carry extras with me just in case. I run Allied Rockathons and they are grade 5.

Legend has it that Grade 8 will snap whereas grade 5 will "give" a little.

Sounds like a job for myth busters.

Like Mike said, all of the bolts are working together, add up that number, sure grade 8 is good, but for that app. I don't think it is necessary.

I used grade 8 cuz I like the gold zinc color :flipoff: but used grade 5 nylocks (cuz we have a bin full of them at my dad's shop)

I have had DIY beadlocks for 4 years and have never broken a bolt or had one come loose, using flat washers both sides and nylocks.

but the not breaking them probably has more to with the spare bolts i have in my tool bag. I f i have a spare things never seem to break.
