BFG ALL terrain looks like Old Goodyear MTR

So there is a truck in the parking lot at work that has a set of BFG all terrains on it. The tread looks almost exactly like the last gen MT/R?

I tried doing some brief internet research to no avail.

What gives?

They run about half the price of comparable new tires.

Got a club member that is, not sure how much real offroad action they have seen yet. He went up a size and ended up with more rubbing than he had planned on.

They looked good when I saw them up close.

I'll consider a set for the tow rig when the time arrives.
