Not really, unless it is pigs or the sort, or defense from a charge. Deer and animals of that size or larger are mostly shot with rifles and bows. Shotguns were common for this 10-15 years ago but they are mostly for birds these days. I have a Remington .300 WinMag that I use for hunting. Bad mofo, really more for long shots and hunting out west where you have elevation change. At 100 yards it will fawk a deer up.

my father in law bagged 3 deer that I know of with that 44mag.

I got the clock .45 from a retiring police officer. It was his spare he never took in the field with three mags for $300. Nitrium sites and other goodies. What a deal.

I have an AR for sale if someone wants one. It sure is purtty. $1400
