Brakes, Manual vs Booster Opinions Wanted

Just to compare apples to apples here. Mostly hard line with some soft at the ends? 50/50% mix? Mostly soft line? All soft line?

Im going to try out the manual 7/8 wilwood masters w/ 2lb residual valves, 3/4 ton discs and calipers front and rear, all braided soft line. I already have the masters and the brakes stuff so ill see how it goes before i spend the coin on Spidertrax stuff or hydroboost. I want to try out a set of Tundra calipers to see if they do any better than the single piston GM stuff. Tundra rotors and 3/4 ton GM rotor are very very close to the same thickness, so all i would need to figure out are brackets. Its only money right??

For those that have run manual brakes and a LSx based engine, how did you block off the brake booster vacuum port on the rear of the intake? Anyone have a part number for this? I know some came with hydroboost, so there should be a plug from the factory.

Im running a TBSS intake manifold.

I bought one from a dealer. I'm sure you could find one on ebay or at a local junkyard.

I'm really glad I saw this thread before we built mine. I returned my wilwood pedal and going to make this work in there. Tj pedal/booster, dodge 2500 master

I haven't pulled mine out of the shop yet but just putting it in gear and holding it back seems very promising so far. I think hydro boost is the way to go.

I think you will be happier. Never heard any complaints out of guys running this combo.

I would agree for the most part, just don't like how they act if the motor dies.

I guess it all would depend on how spot on your tune is. Mine is pretty damn good about not dying. If your rig had a dying problem, I would say it would suck. I would almost bet that even shut off, my brakes will be better than they were.
