Brolite

Payouts are what would make it expensive, most promoters of small race series aren't making crap from what i've seen ( not counting srrs). I believe more people would be interested in building a truck and racing if there was some organization though, a person handling scheduling, tech, scoring etc.

Understood. And, I do agree. Maybe some interested parties will speak up.

I currently have a bro-lite truck build going on. I live in NC and have been talking with the Eric Miller crew for a while now. Scott Decker is the man with the plan though.
We are in talks about having a NC race also.

So yeah, the concept and rules are all pretty straight foward and simple enough. Problem is...getting folks to actually build a truck is harder than it sounds.

I hope alot of trucks will be built this winter, and this idea really takes off.

I talked with Scott some today(thats how I found this thread) and so far, Labor day is the date that we are planning to have the first 2015 race. Somewhere in West Virginia I believe.

Sounds like something that would happen to me. Or, what if its like a joke, just to see if they can get some dumbass to trick the **** out of a ranger while everybody watches the "build thread" laughing....

That would be epic! Have no intentions of racing and fake the entire thread just to get someone to build a useless rig! molaugh molaugh you would need black text to coordinate that. It would be an instant classic thread.
That would be as dumb as building an "off-road" focus.

who's the promoter of the series?

that course Dragbody built at MM for racing beaters would be perfect for this with a little work

We would be interested in holding a race if we had enough interest.

Google mapped Golden Mountain, surprised to see a dirt track on the property. A day's worth of grader and bobcat work, a feller could turn that into one helluva "rainbow" short course! I'd start hunting a Ranger if GMP or Windrock or anywhere within 2 hours had at least 3 races a year there!

Re:

That dirt track hasn't been used in many years. There are 12" + deep ruts all down it. It may take a bit to get it drivable...

I remember seeing a youtube video years ago of guys racing around a track at GMP, mild trail rigs and a dd 4runner :dunno: looked like an absolute blast then, I imagine a brolite would be a lot of fun there.

Could some of the dirt riot tracks be used/modified for this as well?

You could probably build a stock class Dirt Riot or Ecors rig for not much more money. Most of the stock class courses are a little too rough for 2wd, and if it rained (whick it almost always does before a race) then fuggitaboutit
